Day 1 : Transfer from Bilbao airport to hotel. Two transfers will be made, one in the morning and the second one in the afternoon (depending on flight arrivals, precise schedule will be set). Around 18:00h welcome meeting with Tour Leader. City Information will be provided to all those who arrive in the morning and want to visit Bilbao
Accommodation: Hotel Juanito c/flortes 5, 28025 Bilbao (Meals not included , except on day 2 in Estella which will be provided by R 50´s)

Day 2 : Breakfast at the hotel. Before departure of the route we will make the fittings of the electric bicycles. This first day we will take the route of the old Vasco Navarro railway, now prepared for bicycles. We will climb about 3 km to the Hermitage of Santo Toribio and we will turn around to start from here the whole route to Estella, the landscapes are extraordinary, we will pass through different villages; Santa Cruz, Acedo etc until we reach Estella end of today’s route. Food in Estella on the account of R 50´s. After the visit of amazing Estella in the afternoon, we will return to the Hotel by coach.
Our “Bike Tour” today has approx.55km (ascent 225 mtr. Descent 450 mtr )

Day 3 : This day we will concentrate to visit Izki Natural Park . We have prepared a very nice route through Izki that will take us from Maeztu, initially by a paved road with little traffic for 6km to Corres and from here by trails and inside beautiful forests we will run the park through ups and downs until we get to the Hotel in Maeztu.
Our “Bike Tour” today has approx. 45km (ascent 465 m. Descent 475 m.)

Day 4 : 4th day of this route in which we will visit the Ullibarri swamp, riding along the shore. From the hotel we will travel by bus to the village of Marieta starting point of our route, with beautiful landscapes all around. The path is very comfortable up to the Landa dam, here we will ride a few kilometers by road to go back on trails shortly before Nanclares de Gamboa, we will then cross the swamp by a bridge to return to Marieta. Food in Landa (Approx. 25o/person) Return to the Maeztu hotel by coach.
Our “Bike Tour” today has approx. 35 km and for the most part is plain

Day 5 : On this fifth day we will take a tour at Izki Natural Park again, slightly longer than day 2 and practically all by trails. We will pass through the villages of Arluzea, Markinez, we will see beech, oak and birch trees in short a great tree richness. We will also see archaeological remains and ultimately a wide cultural heritage of the area where some medieval villages and a valuable flora all stand out under the watchful eye of the golden eagle, the peregrine falcon and voltures
Our “Bike Tour” today has approx. 50 km ( accumulated elevation 968 m)

Day 6 : Our last day of the route will be smooth and touristic, we will partially take the route of the first day (railway) to Santa Cruz de Campezo, here we start the “Senda de la Torca” that reaches the birth of Torca spring , on this route we will see the profile of the Sierra Cantabria and the mountains of Izki, back in Santa Cruz, we will climb to the Hermitage of Our Lady of Ibernalo where we will eat at the hostel with a breathtaking view(Approx. Food 20o / person). After the meal in we will return to our hotel in Maeztu.
Our “Bike Tour” today has approx. 36 km (Accumulated elevation 400 mtr, 200 up, 200 down)

Day 7 : The trip ends in Bilbao where we will travel by coach from Maeztu to the city center, there are no activities planned for today, it will be the responsibility of each one to organize to get to the airport in time to catch their plane back.

Trip information

INSURANCE: It is an indispensable condition to book with us, to have the right travel insurance. It is your responsibility to know the scope of the policy contracted by you that must cover all activities including optional activities. Make sure your policy covers the medical emergency for helicopter evacuation and repatriation to your home country.

ADDITIONAL INFO: The organization does not provide with a protective helmet, do not forget to bring it as it is mandatory, however you can rent one for 5 days for 20 euros / week. We recommend bringing a backpack – 15/20 ltr. – camel back type, where you can take with you a raincoat , sunglasses, gloves, sunscreen, water, etc. If you do not bring specific bicycle shoes we recommend hard sole footwear because it better transmits the energy to the pedals. If you are not used to bicycle saddles, we recommend bringing your “gel seat” with you for additional comfort during the routes. It is convenient to bring your knife/fork for possible use during picnics on routes.

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS: Normally in Spain visits to the different monuments, cost of entrance tickets is in the range of 3 to 10 euros. This cost is not part of the cost of the trip

ABOUT THE ROUTES: In this “Bike Tour” we will ride about 225 km (an average of 45 km per day) the routes run along trails, dirt roads and bike paths, some crossings are made by paved road. The Tour Leader will indicate the areas with traffic. No vehicle will accompany the group, however any mishap will be solved by the Tour Leader or, in any case the group will be taken care of. Electric bikes require some experience in their use, during the first day of the route, we will get used to them. Once back at the hotel the battery of the bikes must be recharged in each room by to make sure that by the next day is charged at 100% capacity.
